What a character in a movie wears is often as important as what they might say. Sorry, screenwriters… but, everyone gets their due at this time of year. The professionals who design the most complex and beautiful clothing for the movies were honored by the Academy on Feb 26, but did you know you could also head downtown to FIDM and see all the most lavish costumes in person? The museum at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (which is very close to Staples Center) is open to the public for a FREE from 10:00AM-4:00PM. Bring a gaggle of girls and enjoy the costumes from 2011’s Oscar nominated productions.
