Forget your Hulu and Roku and all those crazy devices you’re using to watch classic films — all you really have to do is head out into town and it’s a sure thing that you’ll find an outdoor screening that suits you. We particularly love Oscars Outdoors for it’s selection of the Academy’s best (from The Wizard of Oz to Young Frankenstein to Pillow Talk). But, there are family friendly choices with Movies on the Terrace at Westfield Century City Mall and the Old Pasadena: Film Festival (July only). Slightly more, shall we say, grown-up titles are arranged at Cinespia’s Cemetary Screenings at Santa Monica and Gower and the dueling series by MovieFone (StreetFoodCinema at Exposition Park) and Fandango (Eat See Hear at various changing locations). The food trucks make these last two series pretty cool for families (if the movie is appropriate) and definitely for teens looking for something cool to do!
