Debbie Allen’s Hot Chocolate Nutcracker

The Debbie Allen Dance Academy, & The Annenberg Foundation in association with The Music Center present The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Friday, December 16 and Saturday, December 17.  Following the idea of the original, its Christmas Eve and the Johnsons are having a grand party. The Christmas gifts are shared and young Kara receives a Nutcracker filled with hot chocolate – her favorite. She falls asleep and the journey begins when the Nutcracker comes alive!  Kara takes the audience on a mystical, magical journey, from Candy Cane Land, Egypt, the Indian Rainforest, Bollywood, Jazzland, and the Land of the Kimono Dolls.  Starring Debbie Allen, Raven Symone, Carlo Imperato, Tichina Arnold, Rasta Thomas, and many more!  With an original score by Mariah Carey, Arturo Sandoval, Chau-Giang Thi Nguyen, James Ingram, Shiamak Davar, Tena Clark and Thump, “The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker” is sure to be a hit with audiences of all ages.
