Lin Oliver is an LA treasure. She created and runs the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. A writer herself, as well as a television producer, her organization provides a forum for folks from the children’s book world to meet and learn from each other.
During the pandemic, The SCBWI created SCBWI Connects, a rich resource invented by children’s authors and illustrators to entertain, instruct, and inspire children and young people. Some are reading their books and discussing them. Some have created mini-lessons on art or history or craft projects. Some are doing the equivalent of a school visit with a presentation and slide show.
Now, for summer, this same group of wonderful people have created a digital summer program called CAMP SCBWI .
