The Calder Quartet is at the forefront of an exhilarating new generation of American string quartets breathing new life into classical repertoire and forging new paths with contemporary music. The Avery Fisher Prize-winner’s distinctive approach is exemplified by a musical curiosity brought to everything it performs, whether it’s Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, or sold out rock shows with bands like The National or The Airborne Toxic Event. The Los Angeles-based ensemble–joining The Broad Stage for a two-year residency–will showcase its incredible talent and range with an evening of music with guest artist Yulia Van Doren.
