Roots rocker Randy Kaplan, described by New York magazine as “one of those happy-they-exist people,” delivers his trademark fast-talking/singing rap in bluegrass barnburners, calypso tunes, Tin Pan Alley classics, Broadway numbers, and more!
Since 2006, Kaplan has released five “not-JUST-for-kids” albums. And according to Time Out New York Kids, Kaplan “doesn’t dumb it down for the kids … he just expects them to come along for the ride. And they do.” His work, included in numerous top ten lists, has been honored by the National Parenting Publication Awards and the Nickelodeon Parents’ Pick Awards.
Originally from New York, Kaplan currently resides with his family in Los Angeles. He is also a celebrated poet and an actor.
Saturday, August 8 at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM at The Skirball.
